“ Nobody does Dongbei food quite as good as Auntie Guan in the US. Ever time I've visited nyc since moving to the west coast, I make time to eat here. I almost took off a star this time because I needed to chug water the next morning. STILL WORTH IT THOUGH! Give me sour cabbage everything thanks!!! ”
“ We have walked by this place so many times and tonight was the night to stop in. We were not disappointed!! Authentic food that is not Americanized and we loved it. I had the best tofu dish ever (recommendation of our waiter)! The food was very flavorful and well prepared and the service was good. ”
“ This establish was very good, we had a good experience except for one older guy who killed the mood. The waiter was very nice and gave us two lightbulb yogurts on the house. All the food we selected were delicious. The xiao long bao was my favorite. The pork with wrap dish was on the saltier side. Beef and broccoli we asked them to cook the broccoli softer for the baby and they were accommodating. We were so full we could barely finish our fried milk dessert (That's a must try). We would come again so I would recommend for anyone passing by! ”
“ Most food we ordered were really good and authentic. The chicken stew could be better if cooked down little more. It's kinda too watery. XUE YI DOU SHA(egg white stuffed red bean paste" is a must try! The chicken bones and stir fried ramen are my favorite. Super flavorful ! Service is okay. It's a pretty cute place in Manhattan. ”
“ One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Manhattan. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced and way better than your average Chinese restaurants' take out lunches. The foods are kind of spicy but very flavorful. The lunch special menu is only available on the take out menu so make sure to ask for it ”
“ We had been debating going here for several months as it's near to his gym which I walk him to fairly regularly and always pass by this place. Finally checked it out last night for an early dinner. Like really early. Like we got there at a quarter to five and we were the first people to come inside which is an apprehensive moment in dining but more people showed up later on. I think this is Northern Chinese food. They present the menu with a plethora of pictures which I appreciate but it makes it also difficult to decide on what to order because everything is kind of just randomly scattered on twenty pages of pictures. Also, I found out after the fact that the take-out menu is a little different. Easier to follow with everything categorized and a larger selection of noodle dishes. Alot of the meat dishes and more traditional Northern Chinese cuisine dishes are fairly on the expensive side. I'm not splurging on a $36 pot of stew or $20-25 of chicken or beef. But there was some wiggle room. Most of the dumplings are under $10 as well as a lot of other appetizers. We ultimately went with an order of spring rolls (you get 3) and that's kind of nice because I've been charged before like $4 per spring or eggroll and that hurts. These were quite flavorful and burned my mouth off in excitement. We also went with the wonton soup and the pork soup dumplings for appetizers. Wonton soup was a very generous serving and I liked the element that they added some seaweed into it. The pork soup dumplings were flavorful and had a copious chunk of pork in them but there was almost no soup. None. Nada. Zilch. If you told me these were steamed pork dumplings I would have believed you more than that they were soup dumplings. The skin was correct and delicate and well done. Just sad that they couldn't fill them. I still ate them though. If I come back I want to try the steamed lamb dumplings. For our entrees we pretty much got the same thing but different. He went with the braised beef noodle soup and I went with the pork rib noodle soup. We were really on a soup roll last night. I was going to to go with the beef but kind of glad I went pork. I liked his broth more. It was spicy and a had a kick to it. But the beef was super fatty. Even more fatty than my rib meat which was falling off the bone succulent. Fan. The noodles were okay. They could have used a chewier texture to them or some bite but they were just meh. I enjoyed the bok choy added inside. Health. Anyway, I have leftovers for lunch this week which I'm happy about. Different than our usual Chinese spots in the area but it was a nice change. They apparently do free delivery orders over $15 and have pretty good lunch deals but that's for only on week days sadly. Service was pretty good so I don't know what the other reviews are talking about and it definitely does not smell like piss in here. It was very clean and had pleasant aesthetics. ”
“ Always pass by but never really went in, until one day and I'm glad I did. Ordered a few dishes of the lunch menu and got their braised pork belly with Shanghai choy with fried rice, vegetable egg roll and hot n sour soup . Which it was good I'll be happy just to have the soup itself and also a order of steamed dumplings which i was quite disappointed with it. Their skin was to thick and a bit bland with the fillings. But definitely coming back for their hot and sour soup. ”
